A Day of Hard Writing

I pray for a day of hard writing.
A day to move past deep desire long and vigorously nurtured.
To write in the liberty of . . .
To write in Liberty . . .
To write Liberty . . .
To Liberty
Where ambition and pursuit no longer mask themselves as fuel but reveal themselves as addictions.
I pray for a day of hard writing.
To be overwhelmed not by inadequacies
because this is not the passive act of being overwhelmed
this still offers claims at control and prescribing uncalled for boundaries.
Rather be overwhelmed
and pray for a day of hard writing
where she suddenly appears in simply lines.

believe it or not, i sometimes find your posts difficult to get throught. not because of bad writing but just because i find it hard to transcend past my own levels of literacy and comprehension to where you write at and the subject matter that you often cover.

that said, that was one of the best blog posts i've read in a long time and it really struck a chord with me. short and to the point, i believe i've found another quality that i can add to the very short list of things we seem to have in common. the desire to write the way our heart wants to.

Agreed. This is a very steady piece of writing. Elegant and pure. Your qi must be in good order and flowing well, Dave. :) Reading of Chinese philosophy lately and it is enchanting. You might be interested in reading 'Tao Te Ching' by Lao Zi, the Arthur Waley translation. My favorite quotation from it: "Those who know don't speak. Those who speak don't know". It came to mind in relation to your conciseness in this post.

Oh, yeah and its me, Holly. I still can't figure out how to log in properly.

Peace out.

hey holls,

for future reference you can click on the "other" part of the Choose and identity and it should give you an option to put your name in. Thanks for comment, hope you have a good thanksgiving.
