You Cannot Shrink Everything

I wonder if at some point people will be begin the calm and honest discussion of how if young women in Hollywood continue to get anymore skinny their heads will continue to look more and more monstrous. You cannot shrink everything. I know this is not a new problem but my wife and I just got through reliving Beverly Hills 90210 when we heard about the new series and well to whatever shame their might be we enjoy it. However most of their heads seem just a little silly. Anorexic Kelly in the original would come off as bloated in the new generation. Is it just me or does it just start to look bad at some point?

But if history repeats itself, and we really do end up having another Great Depression, will society swing the other way and start idolizing large women?

I'd prefer if healthy-looking in general is the fashion, but regardless, I don't want to see any more lollipop shaped actresses!

Just one more reason why I watch less TV all the time...

Have you ever thought about taking a few moments to try to understand the lives of some of these women and where they are coming from, the pressures they may be facing, what their potential home or family situations may be, how this factors into their hopes and dreams and their own self-concepts, how they were brought up, values they were taught as children and how this plays out in their adult lives? Perhaps it is easier to feel some compassion for another human being when they are not being judged, when they are not being looked at through the lense of one's own discomfort. Have you though about why this skinniness bothers you so much? Does North America's apparent problem with 'obesity' bother you at all? Seems like this kind of attitude and scrutiny could potentially perpetuate the problem if one is already struggling with self-image and then again I say if. How healthy one is could best be determined by the actual person in question not by someone taking at look at a picture of them and going 'ick, they are too skinny for me'. If someone is too skinny for you why don't you leave them be and look at women who are not too skinny for you. Peace...
